Rhythm ‘n Blues from Drogheda
The Stonecold Hobos are a no nonsense Rhythm n Blues band from Drogheda, Co Louth. Led by Martin Cummins on slide/lead/rhythm guitar and vocals, the band are: Shane O’Brien – bass guitar; Mac Thedrummer – drums; Noel ‘Zap’ Cummins – harmonica. Musically, their unique sound is a mix of Zeppelin, Rory Gallagher and ZZ top with a strong hint of Muddy Waters. Their set comprises original material and re-interpretations of lost blues songs. They headlined many shows at their numerous festival appearances in 2014, most notably The Harvest Time ‘Poc The Blues’ Festival in Monaghan and The Blackstairs Blues Festival in Enniscorthy, where they played alongside the cream of Irish and International blues artists. Their self titled album was released in Summer 2015.
